Be Lovely

By Simon Says Stamp

Hello crafters! For today’s post I’m sharing some cards featuring the Simon Says stamp, “Be Lovely” Stamp and die set. This stamp set has three adorable cuties that I am absolutely crazy about! We also get some other elements in this set, and sentiments for creating card for many different occasions, including for Teachers Appreciation Day, as it has a stamp for the  word “Teacher”!

To stamp these images I used Versafine Pigment ink, which was a mistake as it caused some smudging when I colored these images with Copic markers. Instead, I recommend   using Memento Tuxedo Black if coloring with Copics. I just coulnd find my pad at the time!! I’m no expert at coloring with Copic markers, however, in the video below I will show you the colors that I used, if you are just curious!

To heat emboss just the skirt for each one of these cuties I stamped the images on a piece of clear vellum, using a watermark pad and heat embossed it with silver embossing powder. Then, I fussy cut the skirts and adhered it on top of  my already colored and die cut images. I learned this trick with Bibi Cameron, one of my favorite card makers! Today’s project is inspired by the cards that she created using this stamp set. She has beautiful pictures of her project on her blog!

Once the little girls were ready, I adhered each of them to a top folding A2 size card. I also added a die cut frame to the front panel,  using the Spellbinders, Arched A2 & Slimline Card Creator. To add some interest to these cards I added lots of flowers that I already had die cut and ready to go, from many different die sets. I also added some flat back beads to the center of each flower and I used my Nuvo shimmer pen to add sparkle to the flowers and to each one of these cutie’s tops.
