Ink Blending Over Foiled Panels!
Hello crafters! Today I have two easy to make note cards featuring the Spellbinders May 2024 Glimmer Of The Month! Both of these note cards measure 5 ½” tall by 4 ¼” wide. To create this fun shaped card base I used the largest plate included in the Spellbinders “Essential Arches” die set. I cut it from a side-folding A2 size note card, making sure to slightly offset the plate on the folded side so I would end up with two connected arched pieces!
To hot foil these beautiful blooms I used silver foil. Then, using the same plate I used to create the card base, I cut the hot foiled image into an arched panel that later I will adhere to the front of the note card.
To add color to these blooms, I used Simon Says Stamp Pawsitively Saturated ink pads in the colors “Ocean”, “Surf” for the first note card, and “Mandarin” and “Grapefruit” for the second one. I applied the darkest ink color to the center of each flower, and I went over the entire panel with the lightest color. To color the stems green, I used a green marker. After ink blending with a blending brush, I wiped off the entire panels with a clean cloth to remove the ink over the foiled section and bring its shine back! To soften the ink color and to add some sparkle to the front panel, I misted the entire panel with a shimmer spray that I created by mixing water and Perfect Pearls!
As a final touch I added silver flat back beads around each flower using strong liquid adhesive, and a wax pencil to help me pick up these beads. At the end of this post there is a list of all supplies used to make these note cards. I appreciate you stopping by and I hope you have a wonderful day!
