Surprise Window Note Cards
With Spellbinders “Window With a View” Collection By Tina Smith
Hello crafters! Today I have some note cards to share with you featuring die sets from Spellbinders “Window With a View” new collection, by Tina Smith! I absolutely love this collection and each add-on die set comes with lots of plates to cut out basic elements to create many different scenes!
All of these note cards have a surprise window at the front in the shape of an actual window! Surprise window note cards have an opening at the front that allows us to see part of what is inside the note card, even when the note card is closed.
To create each card base, I used the nine-grill window die plate included in the “Vista Window View” die set. I placed the metal plate in the center of each top-folding A2 size note card, and ran it through my die cut machine with the note card opened so it would only cut out a window from the front of each card.
Since the window is pretty large and fills most of the front of A2 size note cards, inside each A2 top folding card (5 ½” x 4 ¼”) I adhered a smaller side folding note card (5 ¼” x 4”) in order to create a space to write a personal message later.
To create a scene for the “P.S. I love you” note card, I used metal plates included in the “Up in The Air View” die set. For the sentiment, I used a hot foil plate included in the Spellbinders “Mini Everyday Sentiments” set. To hot foil the sentiment I used a piece of silver foil and I used an old set to stamp a sentiment inside the note card! To create the card base, I used Spellbinders “Fog” cardstock. To add some sparkle to the white die cut clouds I went over them with a shimmer pen.
To create a scene for the “You’re In My Thoughts” note card, I used metal plates included in the “The Botanical Solarium” die set, along with a few metal plates from the “Up in The Air View”. To make the hot foiled sentiment, I use a plate included in the Spellbinders “More Sentiments” set. To create the card base I used Spellbinders “Fog” cardstock. And, just like I did for all note cards, I strategically stamped a sentiment inside so it is only visible when the note card is open!
Moving on to the third note card, here I used metal plates included in the “Backyard Haven View” die set to create this adorable scene! To hot foil the sentiment “Have a Blessed day” I used a metal plate included in the “Mini Everyday Sentiments” set. To make the tiny owl’s eyes I used black Nuvo drops! To create the card base I used Spellbinders “Glacier” colored cardstock.
Last but not least, for the fourth note card I again used metal plates included in the “Backyard Haven View”, and I used a metal plate included in the Spellbinders “More Sentiments” set to hot foil “Hello Sunshine”. To create the card base for this one, I again used Spellbinders “Glacier” colored cardstock
To cut out all of the pieces for each note card scene I used cardstock scraps. The die sets included in this collection are great for using up your leftover pieces of paper since the plates are small, not to mention that these are great elements that we can add to any type of note card!
I had a lot of fun creating these note cards, and I hope you felt inspired! At the end of this post there is a list of all supplies used to make these cards. Thank you so much for visiting today and happy crafting!
