Heat Embossing Over Foiled Sentiment!

Hello friends! Today I am sharing some card examples featuring the Spellbinders “Day At The Beach” Small die of the month, for July 2022. These are side folding, A2 size notecards, and the base is made out of heavy weight cardstock.

I had a lot of fun creating with this set! This die set is perfect for using those patterned papers that some of us crafters tend to buy, but never use!  🙂 I used my leftover pieces of patterned paper to cut out the swimming suits, beach bags and beach towels. To cut out the body in different skin tones,  I use the Memory Box “Earth Neutral” paper pad.

To create the background,  I combined hot foiling and heat embossing! Yes, we can do both, as long as we do the hot foiling before the heat embossing. So, for these panels I first hot foiled the sentiment using a golden foil. And only after that I created these clouds using a stencil, watermark pad and clear embossing powder! I did all of that on a 4” x 5 ¼” piece of white cardstock. To add some blue to the sky, I used distress oxide ink in the color “Salty Ocean”. When ink blending over heat embossed images, always remember to wipe the panel off to remove the ink that is sitting on top of the heat embossed images, to bring its shine black!

Because I die cut and assembled more pieces than what I needed, I used the leftover die cuts to create this slimline card! I love all of the little details included in the “Day At The Beach” die set, and it was very easy adhering the pieces together.

At the end of this post there is a list of all supplies used to make these cards. You can click here to watch me creating these note cards! Thank you so much for visiting my blog today, and happy crafting!
