Happy and Fun Tropical Note Cards!

Hello crafters! Today we will be creating some adorable note cards featuring the Spellbinders “Tropical Friends” set, released as the May 2024 Small Die of The Month Club!

This is an outstanding set with many plates included to cut out pieces to create two  types of birds, flowers, leaves and branches! These first two note cards measure 5 ½” tall by 4 1⁄4” wide and are top folding. I began by die cutting and assembling all of the needed pieces.

To add some texture to the front panels I dry embossed the white ones with the Spellbinders “Head In The Clouds” embossing folder. However, in order to add some sparkle, I misted the white cardstock with a golden shimmer spray, before placing it inside the embossing folder.

To adhere the die cut elements to the front panels, I used the Bearly Art glue and foam adhesive in the back of some of these birds, to create some dimension! To add some gloss to the bird’s eyes and beaks, I went over it with a clear gel pen! And, in the center of each small flower I added flat back beads!

To add some texture to the note card with a dark background panel, I used the Spellbinders “Branching Out” embossing folder. This gorgeous color of cardstock is the “Forest” color by Spellbinders,  and I also misted the dark panel with a golden shimmer spray before dry-embossing it! This note card measures 4 ¼” tall by 5 ½” wide and is also top folding.

To create the foiled sentiments in English, I used old hot foil sets and pieces of golden foil! To create a sentiment in Portuguese, I simply printed it using a laser printer and cut it into a sentiment strip. At the end of this post there is a list of all supplies used to make these cards. Thank you for visiting today and happy crafting!
