Fall Birdhouses
Mini Slimline Cards
Hello crafters! Today I have a few slimline card designs to share with you featuring two wonderful die sets by Spellbinders. One is the “Build a Fall Birdhouse”, and the other one is the “ Sweet Birds on a Branch”. Both sets are part of a Spellbinders collection by Vicky Papaioannou. I love small die plates like the ones included in these sets because I think it is a great way to use up leftover pieces of cardstock.
Today’s cards involve a lot of die cutting, which I love! Like many card makers, I have a lot of leftover pieces of paper, especially white cardstock. So, I decided to die cut lots of my pieces using white cardstock only. Then, later I use my gel press and a brayer to add ink to my die cuts. It really is a fun and easy way to add color!
These mini slimline cards measure 6 ½” x 3 ½” and I used heavy weight, white cardstock for the base. To make the envelope I used A10 size envelopes and trimmed 1” from each end to make it the perfect fit!
For more information on how I created these cards and tips, you can click here to watch the tutorial video. At the end of this post there is a list of all supplies used to make these cards. I hope today’s post and video inspires you to get creative! Happy crafting and thank you for visiting!
