Easy Way To Ink Up Dry Embossed Panels!

Valentine’s Day Note Cards

Hello crafters! It has been a while but I’m back, and happy to share with you some Valentine’s day note cards, and my newest technique for adding ink to embossed panels. It is fast and easy to do, plus you don’t need to use a very light hand as you are doing it, which I know can be very challenging for some of us!

To emboss the front panels, I used the Spellbinders “Spreading Love” embossing folder. Before I ran it through my die cut machine, I sprayed some water onto my 4” x 5 ¼” pieces of white cardstock, to prevent it from cracking. For these light pink panel, I used a blending brush and the Simon Says Stamp, BubbleGum ink pad. Then,  I added some shimmer by spraying it with the Tsukineko gold sheer shimmer.

However, a faster way of adding ink to embossed panels is by using a gel press and a brayer, which is what I did with the red background panel!  I like to place my panel on a gel press because since it is sticky,  it will keep my panel in place as I’m going over it with a brayer. With this technique we will get some ink on the lower portion of the cardstock, but it will not completely cover the white cardstock with ink. Since we are evenly applying ink to the panels, thanks to the brayer, we will end up creating this really cool pattern on the lower portion of the embossed panel!

I also sprayed  the red panel with the Tsukineko GOLD Sheer Shimmer, and glued them to A2 size note cards.  These heart shaped die cuts were stamped with a watermark pad and heat embossed with Ranger golden embossing powder. To color the leaves and flowers, I used Copic Markers in the colors FYG1, R46, YG 03, YG 17, RV 25 and RV55.

To make it extra special, I stamped the flap of the envelope using the coordinating stamp set, and I stamped a small sentiment on the inside of the notecard!  For more information make sure to watch this video! At the end of this post there is a list of all supplies used to make these note cards! Thank you so much for visiting my blog and I hope you have an amazing day!
