Craft With Me!
Hello crafters! Today I have a lot of note card examples to share with you featuring many different products from my favorite companies! None of the products that I used to create these note cards are new releases; however, if they are still available for purchase they will be listed at the end of this post, in case you are interested!
Like many crafters, I love watching YouTube videos from my favorite card makers and trying different techniques, which leads me to accumulating lots of background panels! So, in my craft room I have a space designated for these panels that I created, but for some reason decided not to use them!
Sometimes, when I’m creating a background panel with techniques such as water painting (when watching Christina Werner) or mixed media (when watching Jennifer Mcguirre) I usually end up not liking the end result, and it is either because I am comparing what I created with what they created, or because I really messed it up! In either case, I never throw them away because I do not like wasting my supplies! Also, I learned that with time these panels will grow on me and I will end up using them at some point!
So, once in a while I like to make the time to go over my stash of panels and create any type of note cards with them! I find it so interesting that a panel I disliked so much when I first created it is now something I find so beautiful! This is something that I have been doing for a while and only now decided to record the process. If you are interested, you can click here to watch me creating!
To make this first note card I used a panel that I created with the Simon Says Stamp “You Matter” background stamp. I glued this panel to a lilac card base, and I used the Simon Says Stamp “Bear Hugs” plate to cut out these images. For the sentiment, I used the Altenew “Essential Sentiment Strips” die set. To add some sparkle, I added thin silver glitter cardstock strips to the front panel. To make the bears’ eyes pop, I used Nuvo Drops in the color Ebony Black.
For this second note card, I used a panel that I had created a long time ago which I did not like at all at the time, however it turned out to be just perfect for a fall note card! I glued this panel to an A2 size brown card base. I cut this panel to 3 ½” wide so a section of the card base would show on the left. In the center I added some die cut leaves that I created with the Spellbinders “Autumn Sealed Sprigs” die set. For the sentiment I used the Honey Bee Stamps “Fall” stamp and die set. To add some sparkle I cut the sentiment out of an orange glitter cardstock, and I added a thin cardstock strip on the left that I cut out of a brown glitter cardstock.
For this third note card I simply added a white dry embossed panel that I had to a black A2 size card base. To make the dry embossed design pop I apply gray ink to the raised portion of this panel by using a brayer. For the sentiment I cut “You are Loved” out of a silver cardstock.
Next, we have an A1 size note card. I chose to make a note card this small because that panel that I was working with was very small. This note card measures 5 ½” x 3 ⅝” and the red and white panel measures 3 ⅞” x 3 ⅝”. To create the sentiment I used the Spellbinders “Christmas Die and Glimmer Sentiments” set. To add some golden accents I adhered golden flat back beads in the center of each flower, and a thin gold cardstock strip on top of the white panel along with a golden die cut bow.
For this next note card I simply added golden accents to a dry embossed panel by using a watermark pen and golden embossing powder. I love this technique! For the sentiment I used metal plates included in the Mama Elephant “Big Spanish Words” die set. I stacked about 3 sentiment die cuts for dimension.
Moving on, here I used a panel that I created when attempting to use Ranger alcohol inks and a Tim Holtz blower. It was a complete disaster! However, I was able to turn it into a beautiful panel by using a very intricate metal plate by Paper Rose. For the sentiment I used the Simon Says Stamp “Here for You” metal plates.
Here we have two for one note cards. For this set I used the Waffle Flower “Hearts Panel” die plate to cut a hearts panel out of a water painted panel that I created watching Christina Werner! I cut the sentiment “Miss You” out of a holographic cardstock using an old die set by My Favorite Things. To cut out the golden sentiment “Hugs” I used metal plates by Honey Bee Stamps.
For this next blue panel, I used that same plate; however, instead of making two note cards, I kept it all in one! To raise the die cut hearts I added small pieces of foam adhesive in the back of each one, before adhering it to an A2 size side folding note card. It was very very easy to create this note card because I used heavyweight cardstock and both the panel and die cut hearts got stuck in place on the metal plate after I ran it through my die cut machine. I cut out the sentiment “Te amo” out of a golden cardstock and adhere it to the bottom right corner!
For this next one I used a stitching plate to add some texture to an old stamped background panel. For the sentiment I die cut the word “Thankful” out of brown glitter cardstock and added some leaves at the bottom that I cut using some old metal plates by Paper Rose.
Last but not least, here is another two for one set. Since I had two dry embossed panels in two different colors I cut both panels at once on a diagonal, on the exact same spot so I could use on half of each color to create a panel with two different colors at the front. For the sentiment I used another super old set by the My Favorite Things to cut “Happy Birthday to You” out fo black cardstock. I went over the die cut sentiment with my shimmer pen to add some sparkle and I added a few sequins here and there!
So , these are all of the note cards that I created using my old background panels! At the end of this post there is a list of all supplies used to make these cards. I appreciate you visiting today and I hope you have an amazing day! Take care and happy crafting!
