Classic Christmas

Reverse Foiling Technique

Hello crafters! Today I have some note cards to share featuring some amazing products from Spellbinders, “Classic Christmas Collection”. As you might know Christmas is my favorite holiday so I am very excited about these new products!

Today’s note cards are top folding and measure 5 ½” tall x 4 ¼” wide. Since I knew I would be making lots of note cards at once, after I created all of my card bases, I began hot foiling all of my front panels with the Spellbinders “Starburst” hot foil plate, which I absolutely love! I chose foils in the colors Opal and Silver Holographic Speckle.

Since I did not want to let any of these beautiful foil pieces go to waste, I decided to do the reverse foiling technique with the leftover pieces of foil. If you are not familiar with this technique, make sure to watch this video! With this technique I was able to create two more beautiful panels with each leftover piece of foil.

To do the reverse foiling technique, first I used the Spellbinders “Essential Glimmer Solid Oval” hot foil plate. Then, I used a solid rectangular metal plate, by Pink Fresh Studios to do the reverse foiling technique a second time with the same piece of foil!

To cut out all of my Christmas trees, I use the Spellbinders “Bottle Brush Trees Duo” from the Classic Christmas Collection. With this set we get metal plates to cut out Christmas trees in two different sizes, metal dies to create the base for each tree and a metal plate that cuts lots of ornaments at once, which is a time saver!

For the Sentiment, I use the Spellbinders “Christmas Die and Glimmer Sentiment” hot foil plates, also from the Classic Christmas Collection. I am crazy about this one because it involves two of my favorite techniques: hot foiling and die cutting. Not to mention the style of these large letters are just beautiufl! I created lots of sentiments at once so I could have some leftovers for future note cards!

At the end of this post there is a list of all supplies used to make these cards! Thank you for stopping by today and happy crafting!
